Dr. Seuss 2014 Dr. Seuss 2014

We've Been Celebrating Dr. Seuss Week!
March 3 - 7, 2014

For more details, read my blog post, Celebrating Dr. Seuss.

Crazy Hat Day

The second graders, along with Mrs. Prescott's Third Grade class, visited the lab to illustrate the crazy hats they wore to school that day! Enjoy the animoto video of their creations!

Wacky Wednesday

First graders listened to part of Dr. Seuss' book, Wacky Wednesday, and then drew a picture depicting some wacky objects.

Pajama Day

Since Mrs. Gramentine's and Mrs. Weth's classes arrived in the lab in their pajamas, they designed their "dream" bed. My, oh my! There were some very imaginative beds!

Fourth Grade Invention ePub Books

We read part of Dr. Seuss's book, Oh the Thinks You Can Think! and discussed inventions. I asked the students to draw any type of invention they wanted. It could be a new food, an interesting animal, or a machine that accomplished something. The students drew the picture in Microsoft Paint and I transferred the illustrations to my Picasa Web Albums so that they could be saved to the iPad. We then used the Book Creator app to create a page with the picture, a description, and a recording. All books were emailed to me so that they could be combined into class books.

You will need to open the books on an iOS device having the iBooks app installed. Choose Download > Open in iBooks.
